STF Dialogue with DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam on "Meeting the Challenges of an Evolving Manpower Landscape"
MOM, NTUC, and SNEF jointly organised a STF dialogue session with DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam on “Meeting the Challenges of an Evolving Manpower Landscape”. Participants were able to engage DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam and tripartite leaders - NTUC Secretary-General , Lim Swee Say, and SNEF President Stephen Lee in a panel dialogue. Topics for discussion include the latest changes to the work pass framework, productivity initiatives, assistance for SMEs and older workers. Moderated by NTUC President Diana Chia, the Dialogue was attended by some 500 participants, including unionists, employers and government representatives.
Mr Ng Poey Eng from MOM also gave a presentation preceding the panel dialogue, which covered three areas – managing a tight labour market, fostering inclusive growth for low-wage Singaporeans, and raising compliance with employment laws.
